Anniversary Trip to Eureka Springs, Day One, Ron's Camera

Just across the Arkansas state border in Siloam Springs.

Highway 62, on the way to Eureka Springs.

Canoes on a trailer at the Riverview Resort and Country Store near the White River.

The Crescent Hotel, built in 1886.  We stayed in room 313, on the third floor center, directly above the entrance.  Our room had an entrance to the veranda, which we shared with three other rooms.

The front desk and fireplace in the lobby.  The bald guy at the desk, Kyle, checked us in, and the bearded bellman, Curtis, took us to our room.  Curtiss was the first of several people who made sure to inform us, unprompted, that Eureka Springs is a gay-friendly community.

Gaby shopping for Christmas presents for our moms.

Gaby looking over the back yard.

If you look close, you'll see a Monarch butterfly having lunch.

The next door neighbor, St Elizabeth's, which has the distinction of being the only church in the world where you enter through the bell tower.

Dinner at the Sky Bar on the fourth floor veranda, overlooking the town.  The pizza was so thick we could only eat half of it.  Off in the distance, we could see the Christ of the Ozarks statue, but neither of us had a good enough camera to get a decent picture.

After dinner, we took a shuttle downtown to see the town at night.  We had expected there to be more going people out, but even at 8pm, there was little going on.  We had a couple of delicious White Russians at Henry's, and then wandered around taking pictures.

Neither of our phones had much battery, so the plan was to use his phone for the first round of pics, and my phone for the second round (a plan which proved unnecessary.)  But almost immediately after we arrived downtown, the girl-child called asking Gaby for help with her homework.

A few hotel pics, then back to the room where Gaby checked the homework, and then bed.
