Anniversary Trip to Eureka Springs, Day Two, Part Three

Just getting into the business district of Spring Street, our first stop was at the Eureka Fine Art Gallery, where we spotted several pieces we really liked.  Then, next door to the post office, we found this building with a lot of really amazing ghost ads on its side.

We stopped into another art gallery called Roxy, where I found the perfect souvenir coffee cup, and then discovered the 85 Spring Street Gallery, where I had a fun talk with the artist who was minding the store.  We fell in love with Barbara Robinson's tree paintings,, and with the work of Denise Ryan, who had some work in progress in the studio space in the back.

Lunch, at the Eureka Grill, which was decorated for Halloween.

Basin Spring Park, next door to the Basin Park Hotel.

With all the stops we made and the photos we took, it wound up taking five hours to get downhill.  A shuttle came and picked us up, and took us back to the Crescent to pick up our car.  We then drove to our next overnight accommodations, the Heart of the Hills Inn.  I knew, but managed to keep it a secret, that the room we had been assigned was called Gabriel's Apartment.  Gaby was surprised and pleased that our assigned parking spot was labeled with his name.
First order of business:  time to relax.

We walked down the hill (emphasis on the word 'down') to downtown to find a place to have dinner.  We decided on DeVito's, where we got a table on the back deck overlooking Main Street.  Just to emphasize how steep the mountain is that the town is built on, the front of the restaurant is at street level on  Center Street, while the back of the restaurant - which is on the same level - is several stories above Main Street.

We walked around a bit with the idea that we might stop in at Henry's again for a drink, but were stuffed, and tired, so we just walked back up the hill (emphasis on the word 'up') to our B&B.
