Anniversary Trip to Eureka Springs, Day Three

Part of the deal we got for staying at the Heart of the Hills Inn was a breakfast prepared and delivered to our private patio by our host, David. It was a very relaxing and pleasant stay.

The first order of business when we got back into town was to go back to the Eureka Fine Art Gallery.  There were several pieces we liked...

...but Gaby chose this one.

Then we drove around until we found the road that went up to the Christ of the Ozarks statue and The Great Passion Play.  The view from the statue was incredible.  The building above the horizon on the right is the Crescent hotel.

Day three, and we've finally broken out the video camera.

This little building is the restroom.  Seriously.
In fact, the whole complex couldn't have possibly been more Bakkeresque.

My friend Barbara recommended having lunch on the train, but we'd missed the available lunch reservations by a couple of months, so only the excursion was available.  Overall, the experience was pleasant without being terribly interesting.  There seemed to be a lot of delays, and I thought there would be more scenery.  But if you have grade school aged kids, or if you just need a place to sit down for a while, it's a nice way to pass some time.

We crossed this bridge twice.

Back into town for some lunch at the Mud Street Café, and then some shopping, we hit the road and headed off into the sunset.
